The Worthington Area YMCA runs a satellite POWER program. Started in 2015 by Health & Fitness Director Cory Greenway, the POWER program has helped over 300 kids in 6 years work towards athletic improvement. The POWER program is developed under an umbrella of proven scientific principles through the National Strength and Conditioning Association NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) & USA Weightlifting.
Training sessions are offered individually, in pairs, small groups and teams. No matter the size, the programs are designed around your needs, goals and requests. Whether you strive to be more physically fit, healthy, team orientated or athletically enhanced, the POWER programs offer something for everyone.
Due to state restrictions from COVID-19 and the re-arrangement of our fitness center and strength training equipment, we will not be able to host the summer POWER program at the YMCA. However, we have developed an at home plan that you can follow along with.
